Hello all, and welcome to the next installment of Making my Mark on the world. In this post, I talk about some of the values that are guiding me through this time. I hope that you enjoy it! During my undergraduate studies, I decided to work for my school’s athletic department. I was interested in sports and the business aspect of athletics. However, I didn't really know what to expect before starting. I was nervous that I wouldn’t really fit in and I had flashbacks to awkward moments in high school. Yet, I still remember that first team meeting. It was the first time that I really got to know my then supervisor, we’ll call her Anna. Anna noted that she was a former graduate assistant coach for the softball team, and that she loves having a team to mentor. She also noted that we were her new team. She wanted us to grow and develop beyond our job roles. She wanted us to become better in all aspects of our lives as a result of working this position. I absolutely loved this mindset.
